EGO SOLEIL - S/S 2012 by Jana Cruder

 

  Advertising + Lookbook + Fashion Film and Behind the Scenes video for S/S 2012 

I was contacted by EGO SOLEIL designer Blaine Degannes.  He said he loved my colors and how I worked with women and fashion on location.  He described his concept to me for EGO S/S 2012 and it was a match made in heaven.  I love shooting on location and when I proposed the salt flats outside Amboy, CA as the shoot location and showed examples of what we could create there, everyone was immediately on board to make it happen. Del Brutus the CEO of EGO SOLEIL had a lot of questions.  This was a different type of shoot for them especially on location and so far from their corporate offices in MD.  I assured them that location production is my specialty and we would take care of everything for them.  Flights were booked, hotels confirmed, rental cars on hold, model cast, location scouted and shoot prepped. Three weeks later we all gathered in Twenty Nine Palms, CA to shoot S/S 2012 EGO SOLEIL. I look forward to working with this client again. TARA KIWI's New Line of Tee-shirts by Jana Cruder

I was commissioned by Tara Hammond Leu  to shoot the TARA KIWI line of T's for her fresh new line of equestrian inspired tee shirts for her launch PR, web and look-book.  These refreshing designs are aimed at the Equestrian as well as the modern fashionista with several modern silhouettes made with silky soft 100% organic cotton.  Designed, sewn and screened in Los Angeles, CA. This was a fun shoot, I wanted to photograph her in a room full of BARBIE's and thus I reached out to the local LA Barbie Collectors club.  I was contacted by Robin Gee of Echo Park who was nice enough to let us into her home to photograph Melissa in her a room full of barbies. The woman who inspired this series, has single handedly shaped the definition of beauty in our modern culture. This woman’s influence on young girls, boys, women, men, the beauty industry, product sales and consumerism has directly affected how we view beauty in the United States.

2009 marked her 50^th birthday, when I opened up magazines and saw all the grand editorials celebrating her. I felt that no one got it quite right. I perused the credits to find that men shot most of them. It made me wonder if they had ever played with Barbie.
I set out to create my own spin on this icon. I along with a crew of 10 talented passionate women and 1 man (thank you Aeon) headed into the desert of Amboy, CA to create this series. I created this series as my introspective / interpretation of what it means to her!

Military Spouse Magaizine- MARCH PHOTO SHOOT by Jana Cruder

 

 I was commissioned to photograph KAMA SHOCKEY for the March Cover and feature for Military Spouse Magazine. This premiere magazine for military spouses features real articles from real military spouses on deployment, their relationships, sex, and family.  I love shooting for this publication.  It feels good to make images for this organization, which helps our military families through information and articles about their everyday lives.  For this shoot I trekked out to Twentynine Palms, CA and met Kama, her husband and their beautiful daughter.  This feature was about her journey on a permanent PCS ( permanent change of station), ( military term for those non military peeps ),  from Hawaii to The California desert.  She was a gem and helped me create some great images that were relevant to the story and her experience. I look forward to seeing this family again and sending good energies out to her husband who has just been deployed again to Iraq.

Charlotte Sparre is a fashion designer from Denmark.  She has a unique way of creating her lines.  She makes beautiful hand drawings, has silk made to suit her creations, and then has the clothes made out of the silk.  While vacationing in California, Sparre decided she wanted to shoot her 2012 Spring and Summer line there.  She found my name online and we were shooting two weeks later.  We shot on a beach in Malibu.  We took care of the entire production, including casting.  We did her Lookbook, as well as her Ad images.  Check out her desings at www.charlottesparre.com

KORE Swim by Jana Cruder

Watch out swim wear world! Kore Swim launching Dec 01,2011 premieres their 2012 collection.  I was commissioned by Jessica & Nicole Tracy to create the campaign and brand for their launch of swim line KORE swim.  Jamie of Wilhelmina Los Angeles was chosen as their poster girl! She was an absolute pro and pleasure to work with. We shot at the Tracy Family estate in Orange County, Ca. I really enjoyed the challenge and collaboration between designer Jessica Tracy and myself. They knew exactly what they wanted and I helped them to bring it to life. Enjoy the one minute fashion film and look book campaign images.
